Feeding Therapy

Feeding therapy helps children who may experience challenges eating due to sensory, environmental, behavioral, or oral motor factors. Speech-language pathologists receive extensive training to address concerns with nutrition and growth, family dynamics of meal times, and social aspects of eating.

Who May Benefit from Feeding Therapy:

  • Children who eat fewer than 20 different foods.
  • Children who refuse specific textures of foods.
  • Children who require the same routine for meals.

If you have concerns about your child’s feeding, it may be beneficial to speak with your child’s pediatrician and explore a screening or full comprehensive evaluation with a pediatric speech-language pathologist. In addition to addressing speech and language challenges, speech-language pathologists can help children with feeding concerns.
